I Love Limerick is a news website drawing inspiration from the people of Limerick County,.[1] founded in 2008 by Richard Lynch. I Love Limerick uses storytelling with documentary-style productions, interviews, and photography to show positive and supportive aspects of Limerick City and County, focusing on the individuals, groups, and history Limerick has to offer.
I Love Limerick was created following the first ever Limerick Pride Festival which used "I Love Limerick" as its theme, Richard Lynch and Miriam Garcia Mortell started sharing videos showcasing the positive sides to Limerick under the brandname following the festival[2].
From its conception up to 2023, I Love Limerick was featured as a column in the Iconic Newspapers owned Limerick Leader's supplementary weekend edition, The Limerick Chronicle[3].
Mission and objectives
[edit]The primary mission of I Love Limerick is to highlight the positive aspects of Limerick. By doing so, it aims to promote a broader appreciation and pride for Limerick among its inhabitants and beyond[4]
Community engagement
[edit]The project showcases the efforts and achievements of various Limerick-based organizations, including those in the voluntary, artistic, cultural, and micro-enterprise sectors[5]. It provides a platform for these groups to market themselves using advanced video programming and social networking tools[6][7]

Richard Lynch and I Love Limerick have had the opportunity of interviewing many well-known people in Limerick and beyond, they have also documented some important pieces of the city's history.
In 2012 Richard Lynch spoke with Paul O'Connell on receiving Freedom of the City of Limerick, in 2024 in celebration of Istabraq's 32nd birthday, I Love Limerick spoke with J.P. McManus, Charlie Swan, Aidan O'Brien as well as members of Istabraq's team about the horse. As part of their coverage of Limerick Pride Festival, Richard Lynch interviewed American singer and radio DJ, Michelle Visage of Ru Paul's Drag Race fame.
