Iron Inscriptions on swords are archeologically significant for Japanese history of the Kofun period[1].

Gift of Wang[edit]

The iron sword from Etafuneyama burial mound [ja] also known as the "Gift of Wang" Is a sword excavated from the Inaridai Kofun Group (Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture). It has an inscription mentioning a King.[2][3] It should be noted, that the iron sword from Inariyama burial mound inscription and the iron sword from Etafuneyama burial mound inscription are distinct from the "Great King" of the Inariyama Sword[3]
