Jannon Jaye OTTO (born April 14, 1997) also known as Jannon OTTO is an Ugandan American[4] professional basketball player for the Bembibre Women's Basketball team in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto in Spain [5]. She played college basketball for New Mexico Lobos and UC Riverside California[6]. She was part of the 2023 Women's Afrobasket qualification Zone 5 qualifiers for 2023 Women's Afrobasket where she entertained crowds with her prolific skills while gaining reputation as one of the best.
Early Life
[edit]Jannon was born on April 14, 1997 in Victorville , California. Her mother is Kelly Hennessy who is also her high school coach, as well as former player at North Dakota.[7]
College career
[edit]Jannon played college baskeball for University of Mexico New Mexico Lobos[8] and University of California UC Riverside, California[9]. During her college career at New Mexico Lobos and UC Riverside, she averaged 12.2ppg on 43.7% shooting and added 5.5 rpg and 2.5apg.[10]
Playing career
[edit]After college and not being drafted into the WNBA, Jannon OTTO opted to play overseas where she has emerged as a leading player. She has played professionally for different clubs in Europe and Australia some of which are listed below:
Oak Hills High School (2014-2015)
[edit]Her mother being a coach, she grew in the basketball culture which she learnt to appreciate the game and be skillful. While at Oak hills high school, Jannon excelled as the lead player and became basketball athlete of the year scoring 2184 points.[11]
University of New Mexico (2015-2016)
[edit]At the university of Mexico she played 32 games averaging 3.12 ppg[12]
University of California Riverside (2017-2020)
[edit]During her three seasons at UC Riverside Jannon played 89 games averaging 14 ppg[13]
AO Dafni Agioy Dimitriou (Greece) (2020-2021)
[edit]Playing amongst the starting five of the AO Dafni Agioy Dimitriou team for 9 games she averaged 9.91 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 1.4 apg.[14]
TSV TOWERS Speyer/Schifferstadt (Germany-2, Bundesliga) (2021-2022)
[edit]Jannon played two games in the German league and recorded remarkable stats of 25.5ppg, 12.5 rpg and 3.5apg.[15]
Rockhampton Cyclones (Australia-NBL1 North) (2022)
[edit]Jannon won the Australian league player of the week award while playing at Rockhampton. She also had very impressive stats of 18.9ppg, 7.4rpg, and 1.9apg. [16]

[edit]Jannon played 8 games for Musel Pikes averaging 20.6ppg, 7.8rpg, and 1.6apg [17]
Eastern Mavericks (Australia-NBL1 Central) (2023)
[edit]While playing for Eastern Mavericks women's team, Jannon played 16 games averaging 18.4ppg, 2.25apg and 9.31apg.[18]
Bembibre Basketball (Spain-Liga Femenina de Baloncesto ) (2023-2024)
[edit]Jannon plays is playing in the 2023-2024 season for Bembibre Women's Basketball team in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto in Spain.[19] [20] [21]
Uganda National Team
[edit]Jannon OTTO made her debut for the Uganda women's national basketball team in fevrier 2023 where she played in 2023 Women's Afrobasket qualification where she led the team scoring 17.4 ppg[22] as Uganda coached by Spanish ATUNA and won the silver medal. A few months later during the 2023 Women's Afrobasket in July/August she emerged as the top scorer averaging 21.3ppg [23] and was also selected in the FIBA AfroBasket Women All-Tournament Team for 2023. [24]
