Jibril Mohamed Ahmed (born 22 December 1994, Mogadishu, Somalia) is a Somali politican and writer. He is the chairman of the Qaransoor Party,[1] and author[2] known for his work in international relations, public administration, and development. He is a PhD candidate in International Relations at Selinus University, Italy, and holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Political Science from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Rift Valley University.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Jibril was born in Mogadishu, Somalia. During the Somali Civil War, he was forced to flee his homeland and eventually resettled in Ethiopia, where he continues to live. His experiences as a refugee significantly influenced his academic and professional pursuits.
He pursued higher education in Ethiopia and Italy, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Rift Valley University, a Master's degree in International Relations and Political Science from Addis Ababa University, and is currently working towards a PhD in International Relations at Selinus University.
Career
[edit]In 2024, he served as the Chief Executive Director of the Abadir Development Association.[4] Prior to this, he was the Vice President of Ramaas University in 2023. From 2021 to 2022, he worked as Program Manager and CEO at J.D Consultancy Group. He began his career in development as a Project Officer at World Vision Ethiopia in 2019.

[edit]Jibril is also an author, having written *"Somalia's Road to Democracy: A Journey of Hope and Perseverance[2]His writings focus on democracy, resilience, and development in Somalia and the broader region. He contributes articles to various journals and is a regular columnist for Modernghana.[5]
