KIRIKSON (Kirill Cherkasov)[edit]

Background[edit]

KIRIKSON, also known as Kirill Cherkasov, is an electronic music producer presumably based out of Russia.

Make My Heart Beat Faster (Instrumental Mix)[edit]

KIRIKSON mostly posts music on Soundcloud, but has uploaded music to other platforms before. KIRIKSON is most known for sampling a song by the late superstar Tim Bergling.[1], known professionally as Avicii, who passed away on April 20th, 2018. In May 2020, KIRIKSON first uploaded a song titled "Make My Heart Beat Faster” to multiple streaming platforms including Spotify. The song is an instrumental track, sampling the original track by Toni Braxton[2], later remixed by Tim Bergling, titled “Make My Heart (Avicii's Replacer Mix)”[3], which is a remix of the song that has yet to officially release. The song will not be linked here because of copyright concerns.

The song was eventually re-released on streaming services, showing the date "July 8th 2022", with KIRIKSON instead appearing as a featured artist on the track with Tim Bergling now showing up as the main artist of the track. Every song that was not signed to a record label was eventually removed on some streaming services starting on February 29th, 2024 (Possibly March 1st, 2924). The track will not be linked to here because of possible copyright concerns. This track is the only track known to have track information tied to it (e.g. "Instrumental Mix").

Reception to the single[edit]

When the song was initially released, it garnered some confusion amongst fans of Avicii's work on the r/Avicii[4] Subreddit. The original post was around for nearly four weeks before it was presumably removed by the moderators of the Subreddit. The original post can no longer be found, however, the general consensus around the release of the track is mixed, with some saying it's a move to gain popularity and use Tim Bergling's name for free streams and clout, while others enjoy the release of the track as well as the stories (both related to Tim Bergling's work) and subtly including their own additions.

Sampling and Storyline[edit]
