Laylit is an NYC and Montreal based Artist Collective and nightlife party.[1] Saphe Shamoun, a Syrian D.J. and Ph.D. candidate founded the party in 2018 with Wake Island, a Montreal-based music duo made up of Philippe Manasseh and Nadim Maghzal. Starting with events in its home cities of NYC and Montreal, Laylit has expanded its events to other cities, including Detroit, Ottawa, Toronto, Washington D.C., and more.

History

Laylit threw its first party at Moodring in Brooklyn, NY. As the party grew it expanded to the Sultan Room, and later grew to take over Elsewhere in Bushwick.

Events

Laylit assigns a number for each (main) party it throws. As of June 8, 2024, Laylit has thrown 73 main events. Artists that have performed or DJ'd at Laylit include: MNSA, Nadim Mazghal, Saphe Shamoun, Fursa, Fatin, ZNA, Saliah, Hello Psychaleppo, Manalou, Cheba Iman, Ramzi El-Edlibi, Hiba Salameh, Boshoco, & Anya Kneez.
