Mayowa Animasahun (born 8 August 2003) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for League of Ireland side Dundalk.[4]

Born in Dundalk, Animasahun began his career with Glenmuir United - leaving them in 2017 to join St. Kevin's Boys, following a twelve-month stay at St Kevin's; Animasahun joined Bohemian, where he would stay for three years before moving to hometown club, Dundalk in the winter transfer window of 2021.[2][5]

In January 2021, Animasahun moved to Dundalk,[5] and after being part of the academy side after joining his hometown club; he signed his first professional contract for The Lilywhites on 10 August 2021.[6] Seventeen days later, Animasahun made his professional debut during a Round of 16 tie in the FAI Cup, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute for Sam Stanton as Dundalk ran out 5–1 winners against Leinster Senior League side St. Mochta's.[7] Several days later, he made his league debut against Waterford on 3 September 2021; coming on as an 85th-minute substitute for Sean Murray, during the 1–1 draw at Waterford RSC.[8] He didn't feature in any competitions during the 2022 campaign and the 2023 campaign, being ineligible for the latter, following his loan spell with Northern Irish side Dungannon Swifts.[9] On 11 January 2024, Animasahun signed a new contract of an undisclosed length at Dundalk.[9]

On 11 August 2022, Animasahun joined NIFL Premiership side Dungannon Swifts on a season-long loan,[10] he would go onto make 35 appearances, scoring three times in all competitions for The Swifts,[4] before returning to parent club, Dundalk on 10 June 2023.[11]
