Mercans, established in 2003 in the UK, offers technology-driven payroll, managed payroll, and employer of record services on a global scale.[1] Mercans utilizes proprietary tools and platforms, serving clients in approximately 160 countries.

Mercans was founded by Tatjana Domovits, a former employee of Ernst & Young, with the aim of helping global companies solve their payroll challenges with a payroll technology solution.[2] Mercans set up an office in Dubai in 2004 and in Latin America in 2009.

  • On February 23, 2022, HM Revenue & Customs recognized Mercans’ HR Blizz as authorized payroll software, enabling seamless online reporting of PAYE information.[3]
  • New Zealand Trade and Enterprise recommends Mercans as a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) in Canada.[4]
  • Mercans has partnered with Uruguay XXI to invest in new businesses in Latin America. In 2020, Mercans started business services projects in Colombia and Costa Rica.[5]
  • Mercans participated in the Global Payroll Association's (GPA) task force during the Uniting Payroll Virtual Global Payroll Summit.[6]
  • In September 2023, Mercans established a strategic partnership with Infosys BPM, focusing on digital transformation within payroll services.[7]
  • According to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, Mercans is recognized as a compliant software provider for computerized payroll systems and employers, aligning with the MTD calculation specifications as of August 31, 2022.[8]

In September 2022, Mercans received recognition as a leader in multi-country payroll services by Nelson Hall Vendor Evaluation & Assessment Tool (NEAT).[9]

Everest Group recognized Mercans as a major contender in providing global multi-country payroll services, particularly in regions like EMEA and APAC.[10]

Products[edit]

Mercans provides Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, including HR Blizz and Mesaar, for HR and payroll purposes. The company emphasizes compliance with GDPR regulations and holds certifications such as ISO 9001[12], ISO 20000[13], and ISO 27001[14]. Mercans also undergoes audits for SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliance.[15]
