Milosav Kurtović (Serbian Cyrillic: Милосав Куртовић; Šabac, Principality of Serbia, 1856 - Banja Koviljača, Kingdom of Serbia, 13 October 1913[1]) was a Serbian diplomat.[2]
Biography
[edit]Milosav Kurtović's father was Pavle Kurtović, a ship captain and merchant, and his mother Katarina Kurtović was the daughter of Jovan M. Zdravković Resavac, son of Duke Milosav Zdravković and grandson of Prince Milija Zdravković and Duke Stevan Sinđelić, had three daughters, Juliana, Katarina and son Jovan Zdravković-Resavac, also called Baig-Jovan Resavac[3][4].
Before starting his diplomatic career, he was engaged in the development of horse breeding in Serbia. He is one of the founders and the director of the project of Kola jahača Knez Mihajlo[5]. Also, he edited the newspaper Srpski vitez and tried to found the political party Seljačka sloga.
He was the secretary of the Serbian embassy in Berlin until 1888, after which he served as the secretary of the Ministry of National Economy. Between 1898 and 1899 he was consul in Skopje. In 1899, he was appointed controller in the Ministry of Defence. The following year, he was the consul in Trieste for the first few months before returning to Skopje as consul on 16 October 1900, where he remained until 10 July 1903.[6]
Milosav Kurtović died in Banja Koviljača in 1913.[7]
