This includes comedy tours, works-in-progress, and regular shows featuring a combination of local, national, and international acts. In addition to its year-round performance spaces, the club regularly hosts shows in a number of other spaces in Edinburgh City Centre throughout August. In 2022, Monkey Barrel Comedy hosted the winners of both 'Best Show' (Sam Campbell) and 'Best Newcomer' (Lara Ricote) at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards,[3] as well as 'Best Show' again in 2023 (Ahir Shah).[4] The club has been described as the "beating heart" of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe by The Telegraph.[5]
