Morgan Doctor moved from her native LA to Toronto in 1999 and has become a successful session player as well as drum teacher. She has toured extensively in the USA, Canada and Europe and played with Andy Kim, The Cliks, Bob Wiseman and The Tea Party. Morgan has also been billed alongside Cyndi Lauper, B-52’s, Tegan and Sara, The Cult, The New York Dolls, Indigo Girls, the Gossip, Dresden Dolls, Debbie Harry, The Stars, Feist and plenty others. Morgan Doctor has performed and appeared from live National TV (MTV Live, MTV CRIBS, MTV Total Request Live, IFC, CNN, Craig Ferguson, etc) and live radio shows, awards ceremonies, TV and radio commercials, sold-out theaters and arenas, music videos, and many full length albums. In 2008 she won MTV LOGO's "Artist on the Brink" award with her band at the time The Cliks. She received a Dora nomination for scoring the theatre production of Between Us Goddess in 2005 and was nominated for a Juno and Dora for her work with The Toronto Tabla Ensemble in 2001. Morgan’s session drumming has been heard on TV and Film Soundtracks including the CBC Metro Morning, The L Word, and Grey’s Anatomy. In 2006 Morgan signed with Aporia Records and released two solo albums with them. Her solo work appears on Outdoor Life Network and National Geographics Channel) and radio shows such as CBC's Definitely Not The Opera, Hear and Now and The Signal (theme song). She made #1 on the Toronto Star's Anti-Hit List for her 2009 album "Other Life". Morgan is endorsed by Vic Firth, Yamaha Drums, Evans and Zildjian. She has also appeared in Modern Drummer Magazine. She is a regular contributor to Tom Tom Magazine.[5] [6] [2] [3]
