Najieh Gholami (Persian: ناجيه غلامى) is a British Afghan presenter of BBC Persian Television.[2]

Career

Gholami was born in Afghanistan to a father from Kabul and mother from Herat.[3] Her family fled to Iran when she was three due to the Soviet-Afghan War. She started working for the BBC from Masshad in northeastern Iran, in 2001.[3]

Gholami moved to the United Kingdom to work at BBC Persian TV starting in January 2009.[4] She has also created reports in English for the BBC World Service, including Afghanistan Online in 2011 and Afghan Votes in 2014.[5] She also travelled to Afghanistan in 2010 to film a documentary named Afghan Bloggers.[6]
