Project 9, stylized as P.R.O.J.E.C.T. 9 on streaming services, is a comedy metal band based in Hong Kong. Initially a studio project, the band started performing in 2022 after making their live debut at Unison Fest 2022. The current line-up includes KiShin (鬼神), Skull (S鳩), Rich7$on, Lousuhai (老鼠閪）, Ben Chow （賓周） and Silver Pussy （銀閪）.
Their latest single "只想有人令我呼叫"（I Desire An Individual Capable Of Mass Destruction In My Womb ） featured renowned Hong Kong porn star Erena So. The band performed at Tone Music Festival 2023 with Erena So and $alty Chick. [1]

In 2015, KiShin started the project. The project then went into hiatus for a couple of year. In 2017, with the recruitment of Silver Pussy, the band began to write and release more songs.
In 2022, after the release of their first full length album "You Deserve It' in January and second full length album "Make Love' in February, the band slowly started to receive recognition in the underground metal and hip-hop communities. Shortly after, the band was booked to play at Unison Fest 2022, making their live debut with the current line-up.
In March 2023, the band released their third full length album "禁技" （Forbidden Technique), which received critical acclaim. In September 2023, the band released "只想有人令我呼叫" in collaboration with renowned Hong Kong-born Japanese porn star, Erena So.
The band's fourth full length album， ”Dark Romance", is scheduled to be released on 14th February, 2024.

Origins of KiShin[edit]
KiShin, known as 9 in his current incarnation, had achieved enlightenment over 20 thousand years ago when he was but a cat who lived in a monastery on the plains of what is now Tibet. The world was different back then. Violence was an essential part of survival for the forgotten men, and so the opposite of basic instinct was making choices akin to committing suicide. Yet this perhaps is why in that period, while there weren't many who sought to go against their nature and grow spiritually, most who did eventually achieved enlightenment. And so as the cat taken care of these ascended men, KiShin nourished his soul and joined his masters. Nirvana is, however, just a choice. When given the choice to leave this realm, KiShin looked back and saw the beauty of the planet. It was home. He decided to voluntarily rejoin the rebirth cycle, with the condition to retain his memories throughout rebirths. And thus began the on-going journey of KiShin, who was also know as T'Mu'Ku, 'KuPal, Cleopatra, Michael, Michelle, Al Rahim.
Recruitment of Silver Pussy[edit]
In early 13th century Persia, KiShin found companionship in a brilliant, albeit mildly autistic, scientist named Nasir al-Din al-Tusi. Together they discovered how to project KiShin's consciousness to other universes. It was quite intriguing yet often disappointing due to only being able to go to nearby universes, which were considerably quite identical to ours. This projection of one's self was later called shifting, as when one consciousness moves to the body of another, so must that consciousness move on to another's. Soon they became bored and gave up, until one very special night. KiShin, Tusi were hiking near the mountains of Qaem Shahr when they discovered a bright blue mushroom growing on some of the trees. And it is with the aid of that mushroom that they unlocked the secret to shifting. The hyper self-awareness induced by the psychoactive fungi enabled KiShin to shift his consciousness much further, perhaps much further than he was comfortable with. The farther the shift, the more difficult the journey back. And the longer you stay in a different body, the higher the risk of your consciousness being contaminated. KiShin was always quite careful while shifting, however, when he shifted to SH244, he was compelled to stay by what he saw. It was strange that he was in a desert alone, but the bright red sand and lilac skies were not even near as alluring as the tiny bright spot he saw on the horizon. Here it must be emphasized that in this particular incarnation, KiShin was known as Al Rahim. Renowned for his physical strength and cunning, Al Rahim dominated the recreational sports scene in the greater parts of the middle-east and northern Africa. Al Rahim ran, non-stop for 3 days, just like his friend Kakashi had taught him. It must be stated how pivotal his training in taijutsu (體術) was to his success in sports. Those who are well read will now be baffled as to why ninjutsu wasn't practiced. Every journey has a beginning, and this is but the beginning of KiShin's journey on mastering the art of ninjutsu. Due to the nature of his being, KiShin, although having unlimited access to enlightened chakra, was not meant to be practicing ninjutsu but to practice ninshu, a superior way of conjuring spells much like what his previous in house prostitute, Kaguya, was using. Upon reaching his destination, KiShin found a group of brilliant sparkling silver feline. Their fur was a strange mixture of fur and scales, translucent yet somehow has the shine of perfectly polished silverware. The beauty seen in non-carbon based life never ceases to amaze. This strange cat was bore strange resemblance to the foxes on Earth, yet they are, without mistake, cats. Nicca, who was the sole male in the clutter was very much occupied. He greeted KiShin, in a way that either implies he is indifferent or mayhap has been expecting him, then quickly refocused on his work. The females of the group were in heat, dripping with desire due to the full moons, which induces ovulation in the felines know as Shambaal. To fulfill his duty, Nicca mated with every single one. This was no easy feat as one of the prerequisites for fertilization of the Shambaal eggs is the female orgasm. And so KiShin waited, patiently, for 9 hours. As the moons waned and the blood orange sand cooled, a voice whispered. It is at this point that I must clarify, the Shambaal had odd behavior which were quite similar to what would later be called Pokemon. They had the tendency to include their names in their speech. "Let's go, Nicca. I wanna be enlightened, Nicca." And so KiShin brought home Nicca with him from SH244 and arranged a vessel with the closes genetic make-up available for him, that of an albino jaguar. And so together they would create music filled with trans-universal love and occasionally, hate.
Recruitment of Ben Chow and Lousuhai[edit]
During his meditation trip to the Himalayas, near the apex of K2, KiShin discovered an anomaly in the fabric of spacetime, a portal cleverly hidden and occupying less space than a droplet you'd see during a drizzle in spring. The portal was crafted through advanced manipulation of quantum entanglement and cross-universal DNA/soul tracking aided by a type of primordial magic, which has similar ancestry as Haitian Voodoo, albeit evolving in a universe quite different from this one. Upon contact with the portal, a series of security measures were triggered. First was the assault by 72 hellhounds which were invisible to the human eye and moved in speeds indistinguishable from teleportation. KiShin was unfazed as he has had his fair share of experience with these glorified puppies when he visited the realm of Hades. He continued eating his meatball sub and let his shadow clones do all the work. Once the hellhounds had been exterminated and he's had his fill, KiShin tore open the portal and found himself transported to a cave of bright blood-orange crystals. And in this cave is where he would find Ben Chow and Lousuhai, locked in an endless loop of sterile reproduction. He made them an offer they could not refuse. A dream, that one day the world will finally accept that men need to speak openly about their feelings and women have needs that must be satisfied. And so with the addition of these 2 began the age of 4.

Genre and Identity[edit]
The band incorporates various elements of rock, metal, jazz, canto-pop and hip-hop music into their writing and has created a unique sound that is iconic. Most songs make use of the 3 main vocalists', KiShin, Lousuhai and Silver Pussy, various tones and capabilities to produce tracks that sound much bigger than they actually are.
The band also frequently invites renowned local performers to feature in their songs in an anonymous capacity. The names of the people involved are often aliases or wordplay.
The band is also quite secretive about their identity and refuse to publicly acknowledge their identities. However, due to the large build of KiShin, fans have been able to identify some members. The band has always asked fans to keep the mystery alive.
The band is entirely self-produced and self-managed.
