Rajarbag Police Lines School and College (Bengali: রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইনস স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজ)[3] is a prominent educational institution located in the Rajarbag area of Dhaka, Bangladesh.[4] It operates under the supervision of the Police Commissioner of Dhaka and is affiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.[5][6]
History
[edit]Rajarbag Police Lines School and College was initially established in 1963 as a primary school serving the children of police personnel.[7] Over the years, it expanded its facilities and curriculum, eventually becoming a full-fledged school and college by 1992. The school introduced secondary level classes in the 1980s and higher secondary (college) level classes in the mid-1990s. It has since grown to accommodate over 5,000 students.[8] Recently there was a inhumane incident in this Institution.[9]
Campus
[edit]The institution is situated within the Rajarbag Police Lines, offering a secure and well-maintained campus. The campus features modern academic buildings, including 80+ classrooms, specialized laboratories for science and computer education, a library, and a prayer room. The campus also includes sports facilities, such as football and cricket, badminton and basketball courts, and an auditorium for cultural and educational programs.
Curriculum
[edit]Rajarbag Police Lines School and College follows the national curriculum set by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.[10][11][12] Classes are taught in Bengali, and the institution offers instruction from Class III to Class XII. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with lab-based learning in subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science.
Co-Curricular Activities
