Ristozi Football Club, commonly known as Ristozi FC, is a semi-professional soccer team based in Baltimore, MD. The club was founded in the summer of 2022 by the Shkurti brothers, and currently competes in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).[1].
History
[edit]Ristozi FC began play in the fall of 2022, competing in the Maryland Super Soccer League (MSSL) Division II, an elite amateur soccer league as recognized by United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA)[2][3]
Ristozi FC earned promotion to Division I of the MSSL in the spring of 2023[4], marking its first major milestone in the club’s early history.
In 2024 the club secured its first two major trophies. In the winter of 2024, Ristozi FC captured its first title by winning the inaugural Maryland-District-Virginia Cup[5], defeating USL League Two side Christos FC in the final, via penalty shootout.[6][7]
Ristozi FC's winning momentum continued that same year as the team captured its second trophy. The club went undefeated in the spring of 2024's regular season (9 wins and 1 draw), and was crowned MSSL Division I regular season champion.[8][4]
National Stage
[edit]Ristozi FC has since joined the National Premier Soccer League, a USASA-recognized men's national league[9][10], and will begin play in 2025 in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.
