  • Gold Medal for Civil Valor

"intervened with extraordinary determination to protect the President of the "Parco dei Nebrodi", for whom he acted as an escort together with other colleagues, reacting very promptly to an ambush set by criminals linked to mafia criminal contexts. Despite being the target of gunshots, he responded promptly by opening fire, managing to save the President of the Park and to dissuade the criminals from their criminal intent, forcing them to flee. A wonderful example of courage, altruism and civic virtues" — February 26, 2024
