History[edit]

Sam LaGrassa's was founded in 1968 by Sam LaGrassa. He was born and raised on what is known to be nowadays as Boston's Little Italy, The North End. Since a very young age, Sam had a passion for food and business. He worked at several local restaurants and in 1968 he decided to open Sam LaGrassa's[5] to further expand his love for food. The restaurant has been located in the same address for more than 50 years: 44 Province St, Boston, MA 02108.

With the help of Sam's wife and children, the business has expanded from a small sandwich shop located in downtown Boston to offering catering services, being a well-known lunch spot for many locals, across-state delivery and express pick-up services.

They also have a rewards program known as the Sammy Bucks, merchandise, gift-cards and they are currently working on developing an app. Their webpage[6] offers complete information on the business, events and their appearance on external press.

Ingredients[edit]

At Sam LaGrassa's, everything is prepared in-house, including the world-famous pastrami, the sauces and even the bread. They source their pastrami and corned beef from New York[7] which is cooked, cured and prepared in-house with a family recipe which has over 50 years.
