San Bernardo Abad is an oil on canvas portrait by Spanish painter Antonio Palomino, depicting Catholic saint Bernard of Clairvaux.[1]
Its date of composition is not known, but it probably dates from the last quarter of the 17th century or the first quarter of the 18th century. The work was part of the Spanish royal collection, and has been inventoried by the Prado Museum since 1854.[1] It already appeared in the 1828 Royal Inventory, numbered 97,[2] and is also mentioned as hosted at Madrid in the Biographic Dictionary of Cordoban Artists by Rafael Ramírez de Arellano.[3]
Currently, the artwork is not displayed at El Prado and is hosted at the Museum of Menorca at Mahón.[1]
