This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). Simon James Berg (born March 15, 1976) is a British entrepreneur, and expert in AI and creativity. He is the founder and former CEO of Ceros, an AI-powered content creation platform.
Early life and education
[edit]Berg was born and raised in London, England to Susan Berg and George Berg. His father founded a creative production agency which is now BORN Group. His mother when younger was a florist and later stayed home to raise her two children. He has one sibling, Andy Berg.
Berg attended school until he was 16 years old, and then dropped out of school to dedicate his life to creativity and design rather than being in the classroom. He moved to the US in 2012 at 36 years old.
Career
[edit]Media
[edit]Berg worked for over two decades at BORN Group (formerly FMG) starting as an intern at 16 years old and eventually serving as CEO.[1]. He worked as an intern, scanner operator, mac operator, retoucher, production manager, CTO, COO, and CEO.
Over time, Berg worked to push the organization into software development to improve workflows after inventing ideas that solved technical workflow problems. He played a pivotal role in the creation of FMG’s own software production platform called VIP, Virtual In-House Production. This produced a flat plan of each magazine, driving interest with clients to turn those magazines into digital versions.
Berg went on to lead the launch of the world's first digital-only magazine system [2] with full video and rich interactivity, (pre iPhone and iPad) which ran for about four years. He then expanded the business by acquiring a retouching firm, a photography company, and a video production company, merging them from Fresh Media Group into FMG.
Technology
[edit]Berg founded Ceros as a spin out in 2012 [3] to unlock creativity through technology. Ceros began as an experiential content creation platform to empower marketers, designers, and brands to create interactive content and digital experiences.
Since founding Ceros, Berg has raised over $100M [4] in funding from leading funds like Sumeru Equity Partners, Greycroft Ventures, Grotech Ventures, and Andreessen Horowitz[5] with the mission of unlocking creativity through technology.
To further that mission, Simon led the creation of Gemma [6] in late 2023 - an AI creative assistant that inspires and empowers people to be more creative. Gemma also works alongside the Ceros Creative suite of tools Studio, Editor, and MarkUp. Ceros has grown from zero revenue to over $50M in ARR and 900+ enterprise customers across all sectors including of Colliers, McKinsey, Red Bull, and Univision[7]
Personal life
[edit]Berg lives in Connecticut with his wife Doville, two kids Lucas and Olivia, and their dogs Benji and Chewy. He has a passion for empowering young talent to unlock their creativity and has worked with organizations like The Creative Ladder [8] and Virtual Enterprises.
