Surumawa[3] is a Philippine high fantasy novel by Visayan author John Dante.[4][5][6] It was first published on September 1, 2023 by Pawn Press[7]. It is the first in a planned 7 part series.
Premise
[edit]The book is set in the archipelago of Arbata within the Balmaya universe, a world which is inspired by pre-colonial Philippines. It centers around Ardalyan, a *karkalanu* or a mighty warrior sworn to the Radya (king) who must take on a resurging fiend that threatens to invade Arbata.[8]
