Glossary of Shinto |
Taikyu Shrine was Shinto Shrine in Daegu during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
The main deities enshrined here were Amaterasu Okami and Kunitama Okami, and Susanoo no Mikoto was also enshrined.
It was linked to imperialism and State Shinto rather than local support for Shintoism,[citation needed]
Japan's defeat in World War II led to the shrine's abolition on November 17, 1945
