Thomas Wade Jackson - Frontman & Songwriter of Sunshine Lemonade

Thomas Wade Jackson[1] is a dynamic artist whose journey from filmmaker to musician reflects his deep passion for storytelling in all its forms. A veteran of the US Army, Thomas earned his Master's degree from Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, where his thesis film, Slow Dancin’ Down the Aisles of the QuickCheck[2], garnered significant acclaim, winning both the Student Academy Award and the Student Emmy, along with over 20 other awards and honors.

As the founder of The Compassion Project, Thomas directed the award-winning documentary A Prayer for Compassion[3], which explores the intersection of spirituality and compassion for all living beings. His commitment to veganism and animal rights is woven into both his life and his art.

After years of living in Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York City, Thomas returned to his roots, settling in the woods of North Florida—just 40 miles from his hometown of Bainbridge, Georgia. It was here, amidst the tranquility of nature and the challenges of the Covid-19 quarantine, that Thomas rediscovered his love for songwriting and performing. With a wealth of technical experience and a newfound creative drive, he began producing music with the same passion that fueled his filmmaking.

Now, at 57, Thomas lives in an RV in the woods with his two cats and a dog named Harmony, continuing to pursue his dreams with the release of Sunshine Lemonade's Classic Tracks. As the frontman of Sunshine Lemonade, Thomas infuses the band's music with a blend of folk, rock, and heartfelt storytelling, creating songs that resonate with listeners on a deep emotional level.
