Gomes' performances at Montferrand caught the eye of scouts, leading to his enrollment in the youth academy of Nîmes Olympique.[1]
Career
[edit]During his time at Nîmes Olympique, Gomes underwent significant development under the guidance of Toifilou Maoulida. Transitioning from the club's youth setup to higher levels, he consistently demonstrated his adaptability and midfield prowess.
In 2023, Gomes inked a deal with Pau FC, initially featuring for their reserve team[2].
Gomes made his first appearance with Pau FC in a Copa Pirineos[3] preseason friendly against SD Huesca at Estadio El Alcoraz, replacing Mons Bassouamina[4][5].
During his debut match in Ligue 2 against FC Girondins de Bordeaux at Matmut Atlantique on the last day of the 2023-24 season, Gomes made an immediate impact[6]. Coming on as a substitute for Jordy Gaspar, he not only showcased his skills but also provided an assist for Moussa Sylla[7]. Despite Gomes' contribution, Pau FC suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat on that occasion[8]. Gomes caught the eye of several Ligue 2 clubs[9].
