Draft:Valentyn Volkov
Submission declined on 20 November 2023 by Vanderwaalforces (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Valentyn S. Volkov, PhD, is a physicist, specializing in nanophotonics and advanced materials.[1] , Сo-Founder of Deep Tech company XPANCEO [2]
Education and career[edit]
Valentyn S. Volkov received a M.Sc. degree in physics in 2000 from Moscow State University (Russia) and obtained his Ph.D. in 2003 from Aalborg University (Denmark). From 2019 to 2021, he was the director of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Centre for Photonics and 2D Materials [3]. In 2021, together with a tech entrepreneur, Roman Axelrod, he co-founded XPANCEO [4].
Research[edit]
Valentyn S. Volkov is widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to nano-optics and the development of nanophotonic waveguide structures [5]. The last breakthrough research on 2D and anisotropic van der Waals materials, developed and led by Valentyn Volkov and his team, can potentially become a new 'big thing' in the field of nanophotonics and advanced materials [6], [7], [8].
His recent works have gained enormous interest in the community, which is acknowledged worldwide, forming the backbone for developing XPANCEO smart lenses [9].
Personal life[edit]
Valentyn is married and is the proud parent of three children. In his leisure time, he is passionate about medieval fencing.
