Draft:WICZ+ Foundation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The WICZ+ Foundation represents a transformative evolution of the Women in Conflict Zones (WICZ) Initiative, initially spearheaded in 2018 by Anna Prodromou. The WICZ Initiate has been dedicated to promoting women's rights and enhancing civic participation in Cyprus. Building upon this the WICZ+ Foundation endeavours to extend its efforts to encompass other marginalized and disenfranhised communities. This includes individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, persons with disabilities and those belonging to a migrant and asylum-seeker communities. By expanding its scope, the WICZ+ Foundation strives to foster inclusivity, advocate for equality, and engender positive societal change across diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The WICZ+ Foundation has been officially registered in Cyprus as a non-for-profit organization in 2023. It's first action was a collaboration with the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus[1] on the project HERitage Amplified[2], Women and Cultural Diversity on Wikipedia as part of the wiki-gap[3] project.
