From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

West Hull FM is a independent community radio station based in Kingston Upon Hull run by volunteers it was founded in 2007 as the first community radio station in the region and one of the first in the UK following the introduction of Ofcom's community radio licencing. It primarily broadcasts to west of the city of Kingston Upon Hull and the surrounding villages including Anlaby, Cottingham, Hessle and Willerby due to having a low-powered transmitter, and Ofcom saying it must have a blocker on the transmitter due to the then new commercial radio station KCFM meaning signal the is weak to the East of Hull. It broadcasts on 106.9FM but also online via their website and the TuneIn app to smartphones and tablets.[1]
