Winburn Middle School[1] is a middle school in Lexington, Kentucky that is part of the GTAP program meant to drive academically gifted students to lower-income areas. Winburn Middle School is made up of 80.6% economically disadvantaged students[2], making it one of the worse-off communities in Fayette County. It's most known for its GTAP program's popularity and outstanding academic performance in competitions such as Governor's Cup and NAQT.

Winburn Middle School was established originally as a middle school for the Winburn region. It has many prolific associations, such as the Winburn Supermarket and Winburn Fruit Supermarket. Winburn Middle School is not revered for its food safety and multiple incidents have been reported. One such incident is the "Winburn Liquid Banana Incidents", which entailed many situations in which innocent students tried to eat a banana given by the cafeteria, and the banana was rotten enough to be liquefied and poured into a cup. Another recurring instance involved the "Anti-Gravity Macaroni and Cheese", which is able to stay in a fixed orientation and ignore the forces of gravity and the normal force.
