X:IN (Korean: 엑신) is a five-member South Korean girl group formed and managed by Escrow Entertainment in 2023. The group currently consists of five members: E.sha, Nizz ,Nova,Hannah and Aria. They made their debut in April 2023 with their digital single “Keeping The Fire[1].

Name[edit]

According to Escrow Entertainment, the first letter 'X' symbolizes the unknown, where the group is prepared to convey these undefined aspects in their distinctive style.[2]

History[edit]

Pre-debut and formation[edit]

On March 7, 2023, X:IN was shown in the line-up reveal video of the 44th K-Stage Yes or No concert regarding the group’s performance on March 12.[3]

On March 9, 2023, the group announced the release of their first pre-debut digital single titled "Who Am I" scheduled on March 12, and the news of their official debut in April 2023.[4]

2023: Debut with "Keeping the Fire", fandom name, group line-up changes, new members, Synchronicity[edit]

On April 5, 2023, X:IN's debut schedule with their digital single “Keeping The Fire'' was officially announced, with the release date scheduled for April 11, 2023.[5]

Subsequently, on May 17, the group officially unveiled their fandom name, "READY." The name holds significance, symbolizing the connection between X:IN and their fans, as expressed by the statement, "Just as actions do not come out without being ready, the fandom name means that there is no X:IN without READY (fans)".[6]

Escrow Entertainment released an official statement announcing Chi.u’s departure from the group on June 7, 2023, due to personal reasons.[7] X:IN continued their activities with the remaining four members.

On July 8, 2023, Escrow Entertainment announced Roa's departure from the group and introduced new members, Nizz and Hannah to the group line-up, thereby reorganizing X:IN into a five-member group.[8]

X:IN announced their comeback on August 5, 2023, with the release of their extended play (EP) titled "Synchronicity," scheduled for release on August 30, 2023.[9]

X:IN announced their comeback on February 6, 2024, with the release of their second extended play (EP) titled "The Real," scheduled for release on February 25,2024[10]
