Eduard ("Eddy") Willem Treijtel (born 28 May 1946 in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland) is a retired football goalkeeper from the Netherlands, who won the UEFA Cup with Feyenoord Rotterdam in the 1973-1974 season.
Club career
He came to Feyenoord in 1968, alongside Willem van Hanegem, and moved to AZ'67 in 1979. He retired in 1985. On 15 November 1970, Treijtel shot down a gull from a goal-kick during the derby between Sparta Rotterdam vs. Feyenoord Rotterdam. That gull was later put in Feyenoord's Home of History, but notable Sparta fans want it to be transferred to Sparta's museum.[1]
International career
Treijtel obtained five caps for the Netherlands national football team. He represented his country in 2 FIFA World Cup qualification matches[2] and was a non-playing squad member at the 1974 FIFA World Cup.
