Edenta is a town located in the southeastern part of Awo-Idemili, in Imo State, Nigeria. It is an Igbo heartland, where many are struggling to make a better place. Edenta is one of Nigeria's local towns that still maintain their cultures and identities.

Culture

Eziala is famous in Orlu for celebrating New Year's Day in a unique way: hundreds of masquerades would gather for the celebration, and people (Nigerians) abroad would return home, with everyone, a very wonderful day of dance and merry would occur.[1]

Kings

The current king of Awo-idemili is Godwin O. Asia. He is also known as ISIOHA 1 OF ETITI, Awoi-demili [1]

Religion

90% of people in Edenta are Christians while the others are either Muslims or subscribe to traditional African folk religions.[1]
