Ellis Lynley Child (23 December 1925 – 8 May 2005) was a New Zealand cricketer who played for Auckland and Northern Districts.[1] He also played for Northland in the Hawke Cup. He was born at Whangarei and died at Auckland.

He was the father of Murray Child. Father of Neville Child, Murray Child, Roger Child and Graham Child Neville played for Northland as an opening batter and wicket keeper. Murray played for Northland and Captained for many years. He continued his association with Nothland as a Selector and Chairman and President. Murray also played for a Northern Districts. Roger played for Northland B representative and also for Thames Valley for five years. Graham represented Northland in age group teams. Graham was also a very accomplished hockey player representing AUCKLAND and New Zealand.
