English Teacher is an upcoming American comedy-drama television series created by Brian Jordan Alvarez for FX. Alvarez stars as Evan Marquez, a high school teacher, who finds himself at the intersection of personal, political, and professional aspects of working at a high school.
It is scheduled to premiere September 2, 2024, on FX.[1]

[edit]In June 2022, it was announced FX had ordered the pilot, with Brian Jordan Alvarez set to serve as writer and executive producer, alongside Paul Simms.[3] In November 2023, FX ordered the series.[4]
Casting
[edit]Upon the initial announcement, Brian Jordan Alvarez was set to star.[3] In September 2022, Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Julian Sergi, and Sean Patton joined the cast as series regulars, while Jordan Firstman, Yissendy Trinidad and Langston Kerman were set to recur.[5]
