Ethan Philan Randall (born June 13, 1978), known by his stage name Ethan Embry, is an American film and television actor.[1] He is known for his role as Pete Murphy in Sneaky Pete, Russell "Rusty" Griswold in Vegas Vacation, Mark in Empire Records, Agent Toby Grant in Eagle Eye, Preston Meyers in Can't Hardly Wait, Greg Mendell in Once Upon a Time and as Declan Giggs on the Showtime television series Brotherhood.[1] More recently, he has played Coyote in Grace and Frankie on Netflix and guest starred as Carter in an episode of AMC's The Walking Dead.

Early life

Embry was born in Huntington Beach, California, the son of Karen, a screenwriter/talent manager, and H. Charles Randall, a dental technician. He has an elder brother, Aaron, a music producer and musician, and a younger sister, Kessia, a photographer.[2]

Career

Embry started acting at the age of 12. He starred in several film roles, including Dutch (1991), All I Want for Christmas (1991), That Thing You Do! (1996), National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation (1997), Empire Records (1995),[3] and the teen comedy Can't Hardly Wait (1998).[4] He had a major role in Showtime's Brotherhood, which premiered in 2006. The show was critically acclaimed and ran for three seasons.[1]

In 2013 Embry had a recurring role as Greg Mendell on Once Upon a Time.[5] In 2015 Embry had a guest role as Carter on The Walking Dead.[6] That same year, Embry began a recurring role as Coyote Bergstein on Grace and Frankie on Netflix, which began its third season on March 24, 2017.

Embry has appeared in a recurring role as the real Pete Murphy in "Sneaky Pete," an Amazon series currently airing its second season.[7]

Personal life

Embry married actress Amelinda Smith on November 14, 1998. They had one child together. They divorced in 2002.[8]

Embry married actress Sunny Mabrey on July 17, 2005.[9] In 2012, Mabrey filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.[10] In 2013 Embry and Mabrey started dating again. They have since remarried as of June 2015.[11]

In November 2006, Embry and Mabrey were robbed at gunpoint in their driveway.[12] In 2008, Embry settled a lawsuit with model Angelina Roudeza who had sued him after being thrown from his motorcycle in 2005.[13]
