Kariobangi sharks Football Club commonly known as Sharks or K. Sharks is a Kenyan football club based in Nairobi and founded in the suburb of Kariobangi. The team plays in the KPL, the top tier of the Football Kenya Federation system

Kariobangi sharks was founded in the year 2000 and started in the lower cadres of the Nairobi league. In that year the lowest league was the Division II which was the starting point for any team which wanted to fight its way to the top of the Kenyan football system. In 2011 the club was promoted to the KFF nationwide league just before the Unified elections and subsequently played in the unified Division I league then joining the newly formed National Super league in 2013.

In the final match of the 2015- 2016 national super league season, Kariobangi sharks beat Nzoia United to secure the team's promotion to the KPL. Lone goal from Patillah Omotto, a sharks homegrown player and captain guaranteed Kariobangi sharks a berth in the 2017 Kenya premier league

Kariobangi sharks also competes in the (FKF presidents cup) commonly known as GOTV shield cup as well as the KPL top 8.

Shark’s traditional colors are yellow and green with either kit being worn with socks of the same color. The team trains at Utalii College where the management has signed a memorandum of understanding with the school to allow them to use the grounds while upgrading the facilities.

Kariobangi Sharks was founded in Kariobangi area in 2000.

Crest and colors

The club has had two different design for the badge during its history. In 2000 when the club was formed, the logo was just a picture of a shark with text. The crest was slightly changed following the club's promotion to the top league in 2016 to match the club's colors.

Colors

Yellow and green are the colors that have represented the club throughout their evolution. The home kit is full green while the away kit is full yellow. Sharks also have a third kit which is full white.

Grounds

The team training grounds is Utalii College where they have an understanding with the school to use the grounds for training while they upgrade and maintain the facilities. The team’s home ground however is Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos and Narok Stadium where they play their league matches.

Reserves and youth

A well set up academy system can be the key to a club's long term success because it can provide stability within the team as well as financial rewards. Since its inception, Kariobangi sharks has always focused on the youths and playing beautiful passing football while enjoying the game. The team has a well set up academy of U12, U16, & U20. Some of the big names to graduate from the academy include the Kenyan international and the club's captain Patillah Omotto.

The U20 team competes in the KPL U20 league and Chapadimba which is an initiative by the top telecommunication company in Kenya, Safaricom. U16 plays in the Nairobi sub county league.
