The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce is one of the nine academic faculties of the University of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka.[1] The faculty was established in May 1999. It has six departments and its current dean is Professor T. Velnampy.[2] As at 31 December 2011 the faculty had 714 undergraduate students and 37 academic staff (31 permanent, 6 temporary).[3][4]
History
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce was established in May 1999 from parts of the Faculty of Arts.[5] Professor M. Nadarajasundaram, Head of the Department of Management Studies, was appointed the first Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce.[5]
Courses
The faculty offers undergraduate courses which lead to Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Commerce degrees.[6]
