Fatima Sana Shaikh (born 11 January 1992) is an Indian actress[2][3]. She mainly appears in Bollywood movies and television serials. She is best known for her role as baby girl Bharti in Chachi 420. In her most recent role, she plays Geeta Phogat, an Indian wrestler and Mahavir Singh Phogat's (played by Aamir Khan) daughter in the Bollywood film Dangal.
Life and career
Fatima was born to parents Vipan Sharma, a Hindu from Jammu and Raj Tabassum, a Muslim from Srinagar.[4] She has graduated from Mithibai College of Mumbai. Shaikh began her film career with the 1997 film Chachi 420 with Kamal Hasan.[5] She played the role of Bharti, Jaiprakash "Jai" Paswan and Janki Paswan's daughter.[5][clarification needed] In 2001, she appeared in One 2 Ka 4, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. In 2008, she played the role of Zoya in the Indian drama film Tahaan. In 2009 she switched to TV soaps such as Ladies Special, where she played the role of the daughter of one of the protagonists, and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, in which she played a negative role. She worked in the comedy film Bittoo Boss (2012), the romantic film Akaash Vani (2013) and the inspirational movie Dangal (2016). On 5 May 2017, it was announced that Shaikh would star in Thugs of Hindostan with Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif.[6][7]
