Article | |
Portion used |
The first 2 minutes of a 21 minute recording are used. This is less than 10 percent of the recording. Moreover, this recording has been used in lieu of any quotation from the text in the article. Therefore, extreme care has been taken to restrict the amount of non-free material used in the article. |
Low resolution? |
This file was encoded at a lower quality than that of the original. |
Purpose of use |
Burroughs, a Beat writer specifically released this recording along with the printed version of the book as part of his multimedia experiments. He is known for these and part of Burroughs's artistic explorations at the time was to experiment with the power of recordings.[3][4] This recording is, therefore, part of the original work and this clip allows Wikipedia to present part of it to the reader. |
Replaceable? |
As a recording of the text spoken by the original author, who died in 1997, this is irreplaceable. |

This media was proposed for deletion as a replaceable non-free content. It was reviewed by an administrative user, or another user, who declined the deletion, judging that no adequate free-licensed file exists or can be created to fulfill the limited role performed by this file at the time deletion was considered. However, this file may be replaceable by a free file in other contexts, and in such cases the free file must take precedence. A discussion of this decision may exist on the file talk page.
