À sa droite, son père âgé le regarde, frappé par le deuil, appuyé sur son baton. De petits trous sur le côté et au-dessus de la chevelure des personnages devaient être utilisés pour attacher des couronnes de métal. La représentation est complétée par le jeune esclave à demi endormi sur les marches, épuisé de douleur. La représentation du corps du jeune homme qui occupe l'espace par sa grandeur monumentale a dû être inspirée par la statue d'un héros. Ce monument qui avait originellement la forme d'un naiskos a été attribué au sculpteur parien Scopas ou à un sculpteur de son école. Vers 340 av. J.-C.

Il tient un lagobolon (un baton que l'on jette aux lièvres) dans la main gauche, indiquant qu'il est un chasseur, de même que le chien reniflant lesol derrière lui. À sa droite, son père âgé le regarde, frappé par le deuil, appuyé sur son baton.
