Deletion per WP:NFCC#8[edit]

Diannaa (talk · contribs) added {{di-disputed fair use rationale}}, claiming that the logo violates WP:NFCC#8. I agree that the logo is purely decorative, but I also notice that it says that the logo was used "circa 1912-1925". A company would usually show its logo to the general public, so it seems reasonable that the logo was published somewhere "circa 1912-1925". I would assume that this means that the logo was published before 1923, in which case the logo is in the public domain. If the logo is in the public domain, then it doesn't matter whether the logo is decorative or not. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:28, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed; a firm pre-1923 publication date would place the file in the public domain. I will look around online and try to find out. -- Dianna (talk) 00:47, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • This site shows the logo was in use from 1927 to 1936. -- Dianna (talk) 01:04, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • This combines the bear from the logo from 1908–1914 and the C from the logo from 1919–1926. The change of colour and the choice to combine them are hopefully {{PD-ineligible}}. The C is also {{PD-ineligible}} in my opinion. --Stefan2 (talk) 01:07, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • I will list it at WP:FFD instead, to hopefully generate wider discussion. -- Dianna (talk) 01:43, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
