SICA is a similar cooperative bloc or association of nations in Central America and the Dominician Republic (also a member of Caricom or the Caribbean community); it is sort of like the European Union (EU), the Commonwealth of Nations, the NAFTA treaty bloc (USA-Canada-Mexico) or the Mercosur South America. The effort is to integrate or reunify the six or seven nations of South America (may include Panama with ties to Colombia and the USA, and Belize close to Mexico was a former British colony) like a singular nation-state with free trade rules, less customs restrictions and a common set of laws to promote from the SICA slogan "Peace, Freedom and Democracy". + 71.102.11.193 (talk) 04:16, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
