According to a commenter here: http://trekmovie.com/2012/04/17/shuttle-enteprise-to-buzz-manhattan-next-week-uss-enterprise-carier-deployed-on-final-mission/#4724209 Shatner was unable to attend the rollout due to filming on "Kingdom Of The Spiders" (1977).
