The football competition at the 2005 Mediterranean Games was won by Spain. The competition took place between June 23, with the final being held on July 3, 2005. 9 teams participated in this event:
These nine teams were sorted into three groups of three teams. The top two teams in each group advanced to the quarter finals, as well as the two best third-placed sides.
