From Water to War is the third studio album by the American Christian rock band Nine Lashes. The album was released on January 21, 2014, through Tooth & Nail Records. It was produced by Jasen Rauch and Aaron Sprinkle.[1]

Background

The album is releasing on January 21, 2014 by Tooth & Nail Records, which this is the third studio album for the band, and it was produced by Jasen Rauch and Aaron Sprinkle.[1]

Music and lyrics

The music has shifted somewhat from their former album World We View by adding in some electronic elements into their alternative rock.[2][3] Lead singer Jeremy Dunn stated that they have enhanced their sound for the album.[4] The album almost completely deviates from the nu metal/hard rock sound that was evident in World We View and instead presents a more electronic rock feel, although some tracks still contain hard rock elements, most notably on "Never Back Down", "Lights We Burn", and "Light It Up".[citation needed][original research?]

Singles and early releases

The track "Break the World" was released as a single on October 29, 2013. It peaked No. 1 on BDSradio.com's Christian Rock National Airplay chart on January 15, 2014.[5][unreliable source?] Also, "Surrender" was released on Tooth and Nail's YouTube channel a month before the album was set to release.[6][better source needed] Nine Lashes also posted an exclusive stream on RadioU of the entire album about a week before the release date, because the band "couldn't wait any longer."
