Gaalib[1] is an upcoming Hindi film starring Nikkhil Pitaley, Deepika Chikhalia, Anil Rastogi, Imran Hasnee and Anamika Shukla in various roles. Debutante Nikkhil Pitaley has been signed in and as Gaalib.[2]

Plot

Gaalib' is based on the life of the convict Afzal Guru’s son Gaalib Guru.[3] Afzal Guru was convicted of 2001 Indian Parliament attack and was sentenced to death. It was upheld by the Supreme Court and he was hanged to death on February 9, 2013. After the death sentence of Afzal Guru, Gaalib’s performance in the Class 10 result became a talking point on the social and news media.[4]

Production

TV actress Deepika Chikhalia, who played the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan in 1986, is all set to make a comeback with role of Gaalib's mother.[7] Ghanshyam Patel of Giriva production is the producer of the movie who earlier produced movies like Sirf and Chapekar Brothers. The first scheduled of the movie will start in December 2017 in Allahabadfollowed by final scheduled in Kashmir’s various locations.
