The Galway-Mayo rivalry is a Gaelic football rivalry between Irish inter-county teams Galway and Mayo, who first played each other in 1901. It is considered to be one of the biggest rivalries in Gaelic games.[1] Galway's home ground is Pearse Stadium and Mayo's home ground is MacHale Park.

While Mayo have the highest number of Connacht titles and Galway are ranked second on the roll of honour, they have also enjoyed success in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, having won 12 championship titles between them to date.

Galway ended Mayo's bid for a sixth Connacht title in a row, knocking them out in the Semi-Final in June 2016 [2]
