The giant laughingthrush (Garrulax maximus) is a bird species in the family Leiothrichidae. In the proposed rearrangement of the laughingthrushes, it is sometimes placed in the genus Ianthocincla, as I. maxima.

It is found in central China and far northern India and Myanmar. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.
