Gilles Bettmer (born 31 March 1989 in Esch-sur-Alzette) is a Luxembourgian football player, who currently plays for AS Differdange.[1]

Career

Bettmer joined SC Freiburg II in 2004 from local side AS Differdange[2] and signed in January 2010 than for Eintracht Trier. After a half year with Eintracht Trier[3] announced on 26 May 2010 his return to his youth club AS Differdange and signed a three years contract.

International career

He made his debut for Luxembourg in a November 2005 friendly match against Canada and by December 2008 had earned 23 caps, scoring no goals.[4] He played in 4 FIFA World Cup qualification matches.[5] In August 2011, he plays for the fourth qualifying round of the Europa League against the new Paris-Saint Germain of Leonardo, and several times put in danger the goalkeeper of the opposing team Salvatore Sirigu. These wonderful actions, has attracted several clubs like Chievo Verona, AJ Auxerre, Stade de Reims and FC Nantes.
