Gisburg (born in 1966 as Gisburg Smialek [1][2]) is an Austrian composer and singer of Slovenian origin, born in Salzburg in Austria.

She originally began by studying flute with Dieter Schnebel,[2] and later touring with his vocal group "Die Maulwerker".

Gisburg moved to New York City in 1992. She has recorded 3 CDs with her own compositions on John Zorn’s label Tzadik.[2]
