Gokul is an Indian film director, who works in Tamil cinema. He made his directional debut with the action-drama Rowthiram[1] followed by an ensemble comedy Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. He is best known for directing interesting stories revolving around off-beat characters and also for handling multiple genres. He is currently working on his next project titled Kashmora, featuring Karthi in the lead.

Career

Gokul's maiden venture, Rowthiram featured Jiiva and Shriya in the lead. The movie earned praise for its cinematography & stunt choreography. Later the movie was dubbed in Telugu[2] as Roudram and in Hindi as Nirbhay The Fighter.

His second movie Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, produced by Leo Visions, featured a huge cast Vijay Sethupathi, Ashwin Kakumanu, Swathi Reddy and Nandita in the lead roles with Pasupathy, MS Baskar, Soori & VS Raghavan in prominent roles. The movie won accolades for its quirky dialogues [3]and for its intervening plot line.

His next movie, titled Kashmora, is said to be produced at a high budget [4]and will have Karthi and Nayanthara in the lead.
