Gourhati is a village under the Arambagh block and police station in the Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Gourhati-I is located 61.61 km from its district headquarters at Chinsurah and 90 km from its state capital, Kolkata.

At the 2011 Census of India, Gourhati had a population of 13,084 of which 6,716 (51%) were males and 6,368 (49%) were females. The population below 6 years of age was 1,380. The number of literates in Gaurhati was 8,442 (80.67% of the population over 6 years).[1]

Gourhati 2 has a population of 13,640. 51.29% of male and 48.71% of are female. The average literacy rate is 61%.

Economics

This is a rich agricultural area with several cold storages. Chief products are potatoes and rice.
